Valentines Week

 I'm not even going to try to mess with the order of these pictures - what you see is what you get.  We celebrated Pappa-Judd's birthday this past week with a home-made Cafe Rio dinner.  We would have cooked it for him on Sunday, but he doesn't like us to cook for him then because Sunday is the one day in the week that Janice will cook for him (those are Judd's words, not mine).  It was also a first for Julia (Laynee's friend at the head of the table who will definitely be back for seconds).

 You could say that baseball has officially started.  Coach McArthur is helping the kids out with their throwing techniques.

 And we then jump to the valentines boxes for the boys (and a fine photobomb by Laynee and Jack)

 On then we go to the Pinewood Derby.  Seth's first, and fortunately we have some good dads in our ward who will help out the less fortunate children whose dads are inept when it comes to this event.

 ...and back to baseball.

 Finally, today is President's day and a great day to NOT go to work.  Kyle orchestrated a get-together up in ZNP and the weather and the crowds could not have cooperated more.  I was really wondering where everyone was.  I was sure it would be swamped with people.  This is atop the Canyon Overlook at the top of the Mt Carmel tunnel.  As Jack looked through that chain link fence he said, "Now that's a Die-Cliff."

 Again, it was just this nice.

 This was a fun little trail that I haven't done for years.  We all really enjoyed the hike, worrying about our kids falling to their deaths, and the view.

Let me finish by saying, Drew and his Fire FC played this weekend in the President's Day Cup and they did awesome. Drew even scored a goal in his first game.  They won two games and tied one and because of the way the tournament was set up, still didn't qualify to advance to the final round of play which would've been today.  They were definitely one of the best, if not the best team - so it was a hard pill to swallow.  Nevertheless, it is a game and we took advantage of our free time to enjoy the wonders of God's creation.
