50 years of pure wedded bliss...

Fortunately for me, Judd and Janice tied the knot 50 years ago yesterday. Shana is their 3rd and awesomest child and I've been reaping the benefits of her existence for the past 14 1/2 years.

The 4 kids had been planning this surprise get-together for the past 3 months. Pretty much everyone was able to make it. Melanie tried on more than one occasion to spoil the surprise. Judd tried not to come at all (since Friday is definitely a Pine Valley day), but thanks to Jeremy's stern persuasion, both guests of honor were in attendance.

Home-made Cafe Rio was the dish of the evening.

Everyone had a good laugh, and maybe a sentimental tear or two, at the slide show. A lot of hard work went into the slide show, which also included top notch photo smuggling right out from under Janice's nose.

When we got home Friday night, there were the usual night games going on, but we stepped it up and turned on the jacuzzi and stoked up the fire. We were partying til 11pm that night - swimming and roasting smores. We've got to take advantage of the pool as much as we can.

Saturday was more of the same. Up early for a great baseball practice and hung out with the McArthur boys for the rest of the day. It made it into the mid 90's today, and the kids are all a bit toasty. Let the good times roll, because I love summer.
