UEA break is usually filled with a trip to the Grand Canyon, but due to some scheduling issues and the Lodge being closed, we headed to my favorite national park - Zion. And guess who pulled up to give us a ride...Uncle Bruce! What are the odds? Who cares - he was our driver.
We pretty much filled up one of the buses and if people go to ZNP for peace and quiet - tough. We go there to let our kids go crazy.
First stop - Weeping Rock
No cry babies here. The kids are all growing up and love hangin' with their cousins.
This is the view from the top of our next stop - Hidden Canyon.
This is one of Drew's favorite. We did this hike on Boxing Day last year, and he's wanted to make it back ever since. It was everyone else's first. They all did well. I had to go all 'JoEllen' on Kyle and George when Kyle sent George spidermanning up a 40 foot cliff (I don't want to encourage their stupidity, but he made it)
Made our way down the trail and parked it on the great lawn at the lodge and let the kids ruin everyone's peace and quiet.
This is the swarm around the food. It's a feeding frenzy.
It was just this nice
The pyramid - or as Kyle would say, "the potential energy..."
being transferred into "kinetic energy" as they tumble to the ground.
And I just couldn't resist the shoe tree off the side of the road on the way home.

Looks like lots of fun. So glad the kids are enjoying Zion together. I've always wanted to stop and take a picture at the shoe tree. So glad you did and....btw, congrats to you, Spence. Love seeing what everyone is up to. Keep blogging....it's awesome.
ReplyDeleteWish we could have been there. Looks like a blast!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA! That was hilarious. Way to coin a new phrase.
