Spring Break @ DisneyWorld

DISNEYWORLD HERE WE COME!

We woke up at 2:00 a.m. (yes I said 2:00a.m.) to start our journey to Orlando, Florida. We arrived at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29th to the Disney resort Carribean Beach. We stayed in the newly decorated pirate rooms there. We did 4 days of parks and ate with a different set of Disney characters every day. Now for the longer, detailed version of our vacation. Sunday we were exhausted from travel so we walked around the resort, hung out at the beach they have there, swam, ate dinner and got ready for our busy week!

DAY 1...Hollywood Studios(ie MGM)
We caught our bus and headed off for Hollywood Studios. Of course Rockin Rollercoaster and the Tower of Terror were first on our list. Seth got to meet Lightning McQueen. The Power Rangers showed us some moves. We saw the Indiana Jones Stunt Show (which Seth freaked out about...it was too loud) and the Lights, Motor, Action Show which was amazing!

That afternoon we got to eat at Playhouse Disney. Leo and June from the Little Einsteins and Jo Jo and Goliath from Jo Jo's Circus were there to sing and dance and take pictures with us. Jack LOVED Goliath.

DAY 2...Magic Kingdom
Tuesday found us at the Happiest Place on Earth. B-Amma took Laynee and Drew on the big rides, while me, Spence, Seth, and Jack headed for Dumbo. For such a stupid ride wow was it a long wait. Seth and Jack loved it, so thats all that matters. Seth didn't like alot of rides. If they went into a tunnel (ie..Peter Pan, Pirates of the Carribean) Seth freaked out. Not sure why, and it made for a difficult day with him, but he loved Dumbo, Alladin, and the Goofy rollercoaster.

That night we hopped on the monorail and headed for the Contemporary Resort to eat at Chef Mickey's. The kids had a ball. We ate with Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto.

DAY 3...Animal Kingdom
Wednesday we went to visit the animals. We ate breakfast with Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy, and Mickey. It was Yummy!!! We went on the safari, rode on Everest (AWESOME btw) got wet on the rapids, not to mention in rained for about an hour in the afternoon, and scared Laynee and Drew to death on the Dinosaur ride. It was a good day.

DAY 4...Magic Kingdom

We headed back to the Magic Kingdom on Thursday. You can never get enough of Space, Splash and Thunder Mountains. We took a few whirls on the teacups, and did a few other rides that we didn't get to on Tuesday. We ate at the Crystal Palace with Pooh Bear, Piglet, Eyeore, and Tigger. By now we were starting to get a little tired of all the eating with characters. Cameras, cameras, and video cameras were gettin' old!

DAY 5...Carribean Resort
We gladly accepted our welcomed break of no more days at the parks. We were pretty worn out. So Friday we spent the day at the pool. They had a fun kiddy park that Seth and Jack loved. The bigger pools were fun for Laynee and Drew. They had two water slides that even Jack and Seth got to go on.

That evening we traveled over to the Floridian Resort for our last character meal. A dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the wicked stepmother and daughters.
Seth wasn't to happy about eating with Cinderella. But is was fun and the stepmother was the best. She was true to character and we had a good time. When Prince Charming came to our table, the kids looked at him like who the heck are you. Are you here to take our order??? He really just looked like another dude in a funky costume, nothing special.
The next day was Saturday, and that meant it was time for us to go home. We were sad to leave, but happy to get home. Even tho that meant leaving 80-90 degree weather and going back to 30-40 degrees with snow flurries. WHAT THE!!!!! I also now get to catch up on 10 days worth of laundry. That is a lot in case you wanted to know. Thank you B-Amma for coming with us, we had an awesome time and hope you did too!
One last thing that was pretty funny...On our way home, it was about dinner time and we asked where the kids wanted to eat. Seth asked us if we were going to have a great dinner and we looked at him and said, yeah, if you like Wendy's it will be great. Then he says, "What characters will we be eating with?" It was cute.

  2. What a dream vacation! We would love that. Enjoy it while they're young. Shayne is to old for most of our vacations. She wants to spend time with her friends. Soon we won't be able to guilt her into things and we'll have to bribe her by letting her bring a friend.

  5. Thanks for this great day-by-day post. It was a very awesome vacation and I want you to know how much I appreciated bein invited and I was really glad for those daily bus rides. It meant "REST" which I needed more than the kids. Glad you're home and well. Good luck with that laundry. The DVDs are in the mail as I write this. Hope you like them.

  8. Wow! Looks like a great time. Did you drive on I-95? We live in Hartsville, SC about 30 minutes from Florence, SC where is passes. It looks like you had a great time at Walt Disney World. We are trying to get the nerve to take our kids, but I think they are a little too young still. Great idea having the MIL come out and help. We may have to get my Mom to do that one of these days! Hope all is well. Your blog is great.
