Tis The Season

"Mom, can we please decorate the Christmas tree?!!!"  Well, it didn't take long.  Looks like they did a thorough job, even getting beneath the tree.
This past weekend, Seth took us down to Phoenix for a brief getaway.  The kids love staying in a motel and swimming in the pool and hot tub - so we used Seth's regional flag football games as a chance to leave town for a couple days.
We drove down with the McArthurs and stayed at the same hotel.  We were just missing our Laynee.
The games came and went very quickly - literally.  They lasted twenty minutes, and they even ended our first game early due to a mercy rule.  Fortunately we weren't there for the flag football - we were there for family time.  And speaking of family...
... I tried to get this picture nice and big so you could see Drew.   Why oh Why?!!
The hi-light of the trip was finding an ice skating rink that was not too far from our hotel.  This was Jack and Seth's first time on the ice.  They loved it and picked up so fast.

They have been rollerblading a lot lately though.  I actually fell the hardest out of all of us.  I caught a toe and went right down on my belly.  Bounced back up, but was seeing stars for a few more minutes.
And to cap off the night - we dropped the kids off at the motel and Shana and I went out on our own to celebrate our 17th anniversary.  The pizookie was as good as ever.
