Let us begin with Seth and the Cardinals bringing home the hardware. It was a hard fought game and for the most part a pitcher's duel. Seth struck out 7 batters on the hill and with Parker Andrus and Matt McArthur also contributing from the mound and the plate, they beat the Diamondbacks 3-2. Aaron worked hard with the kids this year - especially on pitching, and it showed.
Shana was gone on Thursday for another up-and-back in support of Drew and his State Cup tourney. While waiting for the moms' return, Emery came over for brownies and ice cream.
We all traveled up once again for the State Cup final on Saturday (3 round trips each for me and Shana). The boys played hard and brought home the silver medal, falling to our rivals La Roca. We are proud of the boys - 2nd place in the entire state...and please don't make us drive very far for a while now. Thanks.

We made our way up to Pine Valley for Memorial Day (that's not too far of a drive).
Pine Valley mornings on the porch with a cup of Janice's hot cocoa.
It's not all fun and games though - there's work to be done. That garden is not going to plant itself. Judd is educating us in the finer things of onion preparation.
Butts in the air, onions in the ground.
When the garden is done, the work is not. It's off to the cemetery to clean up the grave sites and pay our respects.
...and once again, me and my ho(e).
The whole crew minus James and the Cole family.
After the big lunch, there was a long hard fought battle of whiffle ball.
We love our Pine Valley gatherings.
